Delhi Court extends judicial custody of wrestler Sushil Kumar till June 25 in connection with the Chhatrasal Stadium murder case of former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankhar.

Earlier this week, Court had dismissed the plea moved on behalf Sushil Kumar seeking special supplementary diet inside the jail after observing that law should be equal to all.

The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch on Friday made its 10th arrest in connection with the murder of wrestler Sagar Rana at Chhatrasal Stadium and the latest accused is Sushil Kumar’s aide Anirudh. Anirudh is also a wrestler by profession and confessed to beating up Sagar Rana and his friends on the instructions of Prime accused Sushil Kumar.

The disagreement between Sushil Kumar and Sagar Rana was over a flat that belonged to Sushil Kumar in the Model Town area of Delhi. Sagar used to stay on rent in this flat with a friend named Sonu Mahal, considered the right-hand of wanted gangster Kala Jathedi.

Sushil and his associates have been accused of abducting Sagar from his house in Model Town and killing him during a brawl in Delhi’s Chattrasal Stadium on the night of May 4. Sushil Kumar is India’s most-decorated wrestler with two Olympic medals, three Commonwealth Games gold medals, one world championship gold, one bronze in the Asian Games and four Asian Championship medals.
