Monsoon is raining heavily in different parts of the country. Heavy rain is going to occur in all the areas of Delhi NCR. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is forecast in West and Central India for the next three-four days. At the same time, a ‘Red’ alert has been issued in many districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai, expressing the forecast of heavy to very heavy rains. Due to heavy rains, a flood situation has arisen in many districts of the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of torrential rains for the next two days from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh to Uttarakhand. There will be rain and thundershowers in Delhi till tomorrow. Rain may increase from 23 onwards. Apart from this, heavy rains will continue in Uttar Pradesh for the next 4 days. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain activities in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha, Chhattisgarh by 23.

Flood situation in many areas due to incessant rains in Maharashtra

Incessant rain in Maharashtra for 24 hours on Thursday has thrown normal life out of gear in western and coastal Maharashtra. At the same time, rescue teams have been deployed to rescue thousands of people trapped in different cities. Apart from Pune, Nashik, coastal districts of Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and western districts of Satara, Kolhapur have received heavy rains, resulting in major and minor rivers flowing above the danger level. Several cities like Bhiwandi, Badlapur, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Dombivli, Chiplun Khed, Sawantwadi, Mangaon, Kudal and others were inundated with three to six feet of water and some low-lying areas with higher levels. After incessant rains in Chiplun taluka of Ranagiri, a flood-like situation has arisen. The Indian Navy will be involved in rescue operations in Ratnagiri, Chiplun and other areas of Konkan where heavy rains have created a flood situation. The teams will soon leave for the Konkan region.
Rain warning in these states during next 24 hours

During the next 24 hours, isolated light to moderate rain at isolated places over Konkan & Goa, adjoining parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Rajasthan. But there is a possibility of heavy rain. Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rain very likely over parts of Uttar Pradesh, South Gujarat, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and parts of West Bengal . Light to moderate rain may occur over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Punjab, parts of Haryana, Saurashtra and Kutch, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Light rain or thundershowers may occur over Delhi and NCR.
